Book Review - Worker in the light

This book is by George Noory - coast to coast am host -

It is about using your 6th sense of intuition and the fact that their are entities out there willing to give us information and help. These forces can also be used destructively.

I started out really enjoying the book, but then it got into a lot of studies and got kind of technical. I actually didn’t even finish it even though I love reading about things like this.

If you enjoy the paranormal and like to hear about the technical side and the experiments that are being conducted you will really like it. I suggest you check it out of the library before you buy it though.

Tip - General Health Issues

“I have gained about 30 pounds in the last year for no apparent reason. I have hypothyroidism, but blood tests say levels ok. I take synthroid. I have started taking Lipitor for Cholesterol. Quit my hormones about 6 months ago. I swelled up on a trip about two weeks ago. Dr. sent me some meds for edema – had a lymphatic massage yesterday and she told me to wrap my foot and ankle last night… lots better today but still don’t know why it happened. Have had chronic pain (not throbbing, just “awareness” and soreness) of joints and muscles. No arthritis according to tests. I am out of sync, for sure, and not up to my usual self for some time now.”

Jo Anne

I don’t know your age, but I would guess that the beginnings of these problems started some time ago. I believe that we are getting a lot of chemicals in our food that cause swelling. Like preservatives that keep lettuce on a salad bar plump, or vegetable and meats from spoiling. These chemicals would do the same for us. They would keep us “plump” and swollen. Also, we would have a harder time digesting foods that wouldn’t spoil.

I had some problems that sounded the same a few years ago, and I quit taking isolated nutrients and began taking A LOT of whole herbs. The first combination I took was to build my system up and cure whatever might ail me. I combined Cat’s Claw for tumors and to build up the immune system. Fo-ti for stamina and energy, Marshmallow to heal anything with a mucus lining, Spirulina as an excellent over all nutrient and Vitex to balance the hormones. I stayed totally away from any herb that seemed to stimulate the adrenal glands. The first thing that happened was that I lost 20 pounds. Then gradually, my stamina increased and odd things started to heal. At my day job, I stand for 8 hours per day. My ankles were very swollen. There is still a little swelling, but no pain and the swelling is very minor.

The biggest success, was when I had my physical last January –2 fibroid tumors in my breast were gone. All the tests were normal except that the doctor said I needed a vitamin pill – some things in that area were still low including my blood iron and that is coming up.

Also, I was very depressed, couldn’t sleep and did not have the energy or focus to exercise. The depression left, I sleep much better, and am thinking about exercise.

One day, I will write my whole story, but I think the first place to start is pick a few herbs that seem to meet the symptoms you have (if you write, I will help you with this if you want to). Try to purchase organically grown or wildcrafted herbs from the U.S. I always do this because I believe we control our growing conditions and do not use human feces as fertilizer.
Make sure that whatever herbs you choose you use a good quality Spirulina in the formula. This will help build the body from the inside out and provide much needed nutrients. Using the whole herb will also provide the fiber your body needs throughout your entire system. You will get amazing results within 2 or 3 weeks.

If you become bloated, add some charcoal or aloe vera (whole herb here also). These will also help absorb toxins as your body tries to expel them.

I am going to also contact a friend and ask her to send information regarding a condition she has called “insulin resistant” This also causes swelling and she is pretty knowledgeable about dealing with it.

Tip - Wart Removal

“My daughter started gym a few months ago. What I thought was a callous on her hand turned out to be a wart. She says that it hurts her. Do you know of any home remedies that will clear this up?”

Tina

Yes, but it depends partly on the age of the child. If she is older than 8, you can use a black salve on the wart (I use a product called Virxcan. There are several on the market and they usually take about 2 to 3 weeks to remove it. In the beginning, there will be some swelling and soreness, but it does work.

Another solution is to use a few of the essential oils. Regular herbs will not be strong enough and neither will tinctures.

Herbs and Fighting Bacteria

This week I want to discuss the two main categories of bacteria and a few ways of dealing with each of them. One category is referred to as gram-positive and the other general category is gram-negative. The category is determined by what is called a Gram stain test and this is what companies that develop prescription drugs use for judging the effectiveness of each type of compound. Some antibiotics are more effective against the gram-positive and some are more effective against the gram negative.

Generally speaking, we just need a broad definition of what they are to know which types of herbs are more effective against which type of bacteria.

Gram-positive bacteria are treatable with penicillin and this class of antibiotics. They cause damage by releasing toxins into the system or by penetrating deep into the tissue. Infections caused by this class of bacteria include staph, strep, anthrax, pneumonia, bacteria that affect the lungs, throat, sinuses and flu. This is the class of infections that are becoming resistant to antibiotics and the strains are getting stronger and stronger.

Gram-negative bacteria are characterized by having two outer walls to the cell or membranes. This makes them more resistant to conventional treatment. The gram-negative bacteria mutate and transfer these changes to other strains. These bacteria tend to live in the dark area of the intestines. They include salmonella, (about 2000 different types) cholera, typhoid fever and e-coli. In fact, I believe there are some weaker strains of the gram-negative bacteria that live in the intestines that don’t show strong symptoms, but do cause a lot of discomfort and distress.

Grandma’s Healthy Drink

Good Morning!!

My mom just had her 83rd birthday yesterday and is busy solving some of her health problems. She is a diabetic taking insulin shots 2 times per day and has developed some digestive problems — but the worst was a total loss of energy in the last few years.

She just seemed to lose all her passion for learning, traveling and socializing.

Last month we visited her and tried to assess some of the issues surrounding her health. My sister who lives by her always makes sure there is a variety of food in the house, but our mom would put off eating until it became a problem. Mom is working with a nutritionist, but in the long run she did not feel well enough to implement what she was being told to do.

We created a “food” drink for her that is giving her the nutritional support she needs to take advantage of the foods that are being prepared and brought in by my sister and mom’s friends.

First we purchased a new blender - we ended up with a bullet blender (yes, as seen on tv) which turned out to be easy to clean and has several cups with it so she could prepare the drinks ahead of time.

This is the way we prepared it. I made about 100 packets of the powdered part in ziplock snack bags - then she dumps this right into the blender and adds in the liquid ingredients.

1 scoop of protein powder -

Then to the protein powder I add a

1 TBS. Lecithin granules — 1 TBS ground flax seed — 1 tsp. coral calcium and 1/4 tsp calcium ascorbate for vit. C (I know the ascorbic acid is hard on the kidneys so didn’t use that)

Then when she mixes it she adds

1 container of yoplait yogurt for flavor - water to consistency with a squirt of trace minerals - 1 tsp or so of aloe vera gel - 1 tsp or so of liquid chlorophyl - and 1 tsp or so of Cold pressed sunflower oil - but is switching to Udo’s choice oil blend.

She mixes 2 drinks at a time and takes one immediately on rising and also right as she is going to bed. The rest of the time she is eating regular foods.

Her blood sugar is stabilizing, she is now walking about 1/4 of a mile per day and has started going to lunch with friends again.

She acts like she is growing younger every day - more vital and active — if she can do it, why can’t we?

Have a good one - Linda

Tip - Storing Eggs

I have been storing my eggs in the refrigerator in the container provided by the manufacturer but came across this in  Joni Hilton’s book, “Cooking Secrets”  “store eggs pointed end down in a covered container in your refrigerator.  You want to have the large end up because that is where there is a small pocket of air inside the shell.  And, you want them covered because eggshells are porous and will absorb the odors of other foods, such as garlic.”

FEATURED HERB: Usnea

Usnea (Usnea spp). It also has several other latin names but this is the main one used in the United states. It can also be sold under the name Old Man’s Beard or as a Chinese herb called Sun-lo.

Usnea is one of the Chinese herbs that can be difficult to find in the U.S. because the cost is prohibitive and it’s uses are not well known.

It is a very strong-acting antimicrobial (the herbal equivalent of an antibiotic). Usnea is a lichen which is basically part fungus and part algae. This gives it some properties that other medicinal herbs do not possess. It offers a great deal of support for strengthening the immune system as well as being used topically as an antifungal. Usnea is effective against ringworm and athlete’s foot (both are considered tinea infections). To use Usnea for a topical infection, sprinkle it as a powder on the affected area. Go lightly at first to make sure that there is no reaction on the skin such as a rash. This herb can be very strong. If you do get a reaction, rinse with cool water and make a tea out of the herb, cool it, and reapply. This should not create any reaction.

There is also strong evidence that Usnea is very effective internally against Candida and parasites.

FEEDBACK - Oatmeal Mask

I am still using the oatmeal with honey mask and the rosewater/glycerine combination on my skin.

I have been using it for two weeks, and my skin is definitely not clear,  but I believe it looks and feels better.  So far, it seems to be getting clean but I do need to use the oatmeal mask at least two times a week to get it really clean.  It is not drying my skin out and it is not creating more blackheads. (very embarrassing problem)

Loree is also using this combination but with about 10 drops of Cell Food (an oxygen product) added.  Her skin looks great, but we’ll continue the test and see how it does over the 8 weeks.

We are still in touch with the woman taking bromelain tablets to reduce the internal scar tissue she has in her back.  She is still about 5 months away from getting a new MRI.

Another reader is trying the tip about vinegar for toenail fungus.  I will be asking her to let us know how it worked for her.
